I feel safe in declaring spring is actually upon us.  Despite continuing blasts of cold, the signs are all about us, particularly at Spenceville and other lower elevation locations.

Our fall Board meeting went well, and we reelected our existing slate of officers:  Richard Thomas - chair, Tim Smith - vice-chair, Lonnie Rhode - secretary, and Theresa Thomas - treasurer.  The meeting is always very social as participants come from four directions to meet at Spenceville.  Most of us don't see each other except for the annual meeting and the cleanups.

On that subject, we have scheduled a cleanup and hike at Spenceville on April 23rd, the Saturday before Easter.  Spenceville is a popular destination for Easter picnicers, so we can clean up the roads for the occasion and then those that wish to can get out for a hike.  Call me at 265-2666 or just meet us at the Waldo Bridge at 9:00 in the morning.  Bring lunch if you're going to stay for the hike, water, sunscreen, good shoes, etc.
